program book advertisement information

The Broadneck Music Boosters will be co-hosting the Marine Corps Invitational at the USNA Stadium on October 2, 2010 and the Chapter IX Championships TOB on Saturday, October 23, 2010. We produce a full size program book for each event. The program book contains pages on all of the participating school bands, Broadneck band pictures, a special section dedicated to the senior members of our marching band, and advertisements from local businesses. To make this program book a success, we need YOUR help.

How, do you ask?

By selling print advertising space and trophy sponsorships to local businesses. Last year, a small group of volunteers started selling advertisements in September, and raised a total of $5,000. This year, our goal is to sell over $10,000 worth of ads in the two program books. It can be done, and has been done by many schools with a smaller student population than ours. We are very fortunate to have many businesses, friends, and alumni in the area who regularly support the band. They just need to be asked.

We sell full, half, quarter, and business card size ads. Many of you have family members or close friends who are business owners.  Ask them, your doctor, dentist, hair stylist, auto mechanic, favorite restaurants, etc. to purchase a tax-deductible advertisement that will help support the band program at Broadneck High School. Uncomfortable asking, you can provide information to the advertising committee and they’ll ask for you. We are asking each family to sell at least three advertisements this year. We cannot stress enough the importance of this. Annual marching band operating costs are approximately $40,000. Advertising is the marching band’s single largest source of revenue and is vital to the success of the Broadneck Music Boosters.

One-line ads for $5 can be used to show support for a band member by family and friends. Like last year, there will be a competition among the band sections for most one-liners sold. Please make as many copies of the ad forms as necessary or you can get more copies from Mr. Heist.

There will also be a special section in the Chapter Championships program book dedicated to senior members of the band. This is the opportunity for parents to place an ad in the book for their senior marcher. The cost for these senior ads will be half that of the commercial ads (one-line ads excluded).

We are looking for additional volunteers to be part of the advertising committee. If you would be interested in helping out with advertising sales please contact Matt Heist at broadneckbands@gmail.com or 410-626-8362.

Any questions, please contact Matt Heist.

Thank you in advance for your support of the Broadneck High School Marching Bruins!
